Poetry: KISS OF THE SHADOW

 By Mimi Obi

KISS OF THE SHADOW
The light moves on the water
resting slowly and gliding
travelling at a static pace
round and round at a spot

I see your reflection cast on the water
your eyes gleaning in darkness
a glimmer of hope or maybe love
or rather an unspoken childhood
Your shadow makes the move
leaning forward and capturing
sighs of endless passion
and moans of satisfaction
We sit here silently
reaching for the stars in innocence
in our silence goes a million conversation
and my lips curl waiting for the kiss of our shadow.
