Temitayo Lasisi (200L, Public Administration)
and Omirin Emmanuel Kayode (300L, Law) have
won the third edition of the Nairaland Interschool
Debate for Obafemi Awolowo University after
edging past their colleagues from the ‘Better By
Far’ University; the University of Ilorin.
In a fiercely contested intellectual battle on
Sunday evening, OAU came top with grand total
points of 74.5 as against 68.5 polled by the
runner-up. The Lagos State University had earlier
gone past Ahmadu Bello University to clinch the
third position.
The debate paraded wits from over 24 schools
including University of Ibadan (UI), University of
Lagos (UNILAG), University of Benin (UNIBEN),
Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA),
amongst others. This edition marks the greatest
feat of team OAU as it has maintained the third
position in the two previous editions.
Also, Temitayo, a representative of the OAU team
became the best debater thereby winning among
several prices an invite to JarusHub Networking
Event - an avenue to meet and dine with some
Lagos professionals in a top restaurant in Lagos.
