Refreshed 2017 Audi A6, A7 Add Power with New Competition Package

New RS 7 and A8 variants make over 600 HP

Audi has released details and pricing on a number of its model-year 2017 vehicles, including the A6 sedan and the Q3 crossover. Most models get a few cosmetic tweaks. We should note that diesels are still not being offered as the automaker continues to resolve emissions issues surrounding those power trains.

The big news for the 2017 Audi A6 3.0T is the addition of a Competition Package for the 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 that boosts power to 340 hp, seven more than the normal model. Torque remains the same at 325 lb-ft. The A6 3.0T Competition model also adds a rear sport differential that was previously only offered on the S6. Priced at $68,550, the 2017 Audi A6 3.0T Competition also includes S sport Valcona leather seats with diamond contrast stitching, 20-inch wheels, and red brake calipers.

Meanwhile, the normal A6 2.0T and 3.0T now come standard with S line exterior accents and 18-inch wheels. The base model 2017 Audi A6 2.0T now starts at $48,550, while the A6 3.0T starts at $59,550.

The 2017 Audi A7 3.0T also gets the new Competition Package and is priced at $77,500. Pricing for the 2017 S7 has dropped thanks to the addition of the lower trim Premium Plus package that brings the starting MSRP down to $80,850, which is $3,000 cheaper than the fully-loaded Prestige model. And as promised, Audi is bringing over the RS7 performance model to the U.S. That model makes 605 hp from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 compared to 560 hp in the regular RS 7. Opting for the special RS 7 will set you back $130,450, which is $18,800 more than the base RS 7.

The S8 plus is new, and, like the RS 7 Performance, will make 605 hp from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8. That model starts at $116,850. Meanwhile, the normal A8 will only come in long-wheelbase form, which means the cheapest version will start at $83,450 with the 3.0-liter supercharged V-6.

Finally, the 2017 Audi Q3 adds a new base level Premium model, which brings down the crossover’s starting price to $32,750. The Q3 Premium will feature items previously offered on the premium plus model , including 12-way power-adjustable front seats, panoramic sunroof, and LED taillights. Meanwhile, the Premium Plus model adds more features like power folding exterior mirrors and a power tailgate.
