Badaru said the factories would be established in Birninkudu and Gwaram local government areas of the state.
“In our efforts to boost the IGR of the state, we will soon establish two additional granite factories in Birninkudu and Gwaram LGAs. And these factories will be producing coloured granites so that people can get different colours for their houses,” Badaru said.
He explained that the machineries for the factories were expected to arrive in the state in the next few weeks.
The governor further said that his administration was determined to welcome investors for any raw materials with competitive advantage in the state.
“I want assure that the machineries for these factories will arrive in some weeks to come. We know who to bring and invest in any raw material with competitive advantage in the state,” the governor said.
Badaru recalled that a similar factory was commissioned in Dutse Local Government Area by his administration on May 29th, 2016 in an effort to diversify the economy of the state.
According to him, the factory would be exporting 30 containers of the granite to China monthly.
He said the factory was established within six months and would start exporting its product in less than eight months.
The governor pointed out that the establishment of the company was part of the determination of his government to use the available resources where the state had comparative advantage to boost its IGR and create employment.
“The factory is expected to employ 1,500 people directly and as its keeps growing, it will provide more job opportunities in addition to income to the state,” the governor said.
According to him, Jigawa is also among the states that would be put on extensive survey for gold by the Federal Government.
