Naira Still Firm Against Dollar, Checkout Conversion rate

Short Naira Exchange monitor(29)

NAIJ.com fact check today, June 3, has shown the Nigerian currency, naira has stayed firm against the American dollar in the black market.
This comes after the nation’s currency had gained strength on Thursday, June 2, to trade at N345 per dollar.
According to our Bureau De Change source in Katsina, the naira has remained at N345/$1 as it was yesterday.

He said: “The naira still trades at N345/$1 as it was yesterday. We beginning to experience progress but I can’t tell if the naira will continue to stay strong. This is because there is lack of crude supply and also due to the renewed militancy in the Niger Delta region. The attacks are putting more pressure on our economy. And more pressure on our economy means more pressure on our currency.”
However, another of our BDC source in Abuja disclosed the naira has crashed slightly to N348/$1.

He said: “The naira trades at N348/$1 over here, although some shops still sell at N345 and N347.”

The Nigerian currency had started last week on a convincing note at N340/$1.

It strengthened further against the greenback on Tuesday, May 24, before crashing on Wednesday, May 25 to N342/$1 and N345/$1 subsequently on Thursday, Friday.
However, it started the new week at N347/$1 and had remained the same until yesterday it strengthened to N345/$1 and as remained the same till today.
