Fuel Scarcity May Hit Nigeria As NARTO, PTD Threatens Strike

After an emergency meeting of the association in Abuja on Tuesday, The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), threatens strike. According to NARTO President, Alh. Kassim Bataiya.:
“If by seven days from today all the authorities concerned do not come back to us and do what they are expected to do we will withdraw our services meaning we will park our trucks in our garages and the trucks will not move anywhere.”

This means , If the transporters withdraw their services, the consequence is that there will be no movement of petroleum product nationwide as Nigeria relies on truck for about 98 per cent of fuel distribution.
