Debbie Collins who is the present MBGN Universe has joined ambassadors of International Charity Smile Train West Africa to create awareness and advocate for children with cleft lips and palates in Nigeria.
As part of her commitment, Debbie will be visiting some of Smile Train’s partner hospitals in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja to see the local surgeons perform life-changing cleft surgeries firsthand and interact with some of the patients.
Smile Train’s local partners in Nigeria have helped more than 13,700 patients and are active in 36 States and FCT Abuja even as they hope to reduce the estimated number of about 6,100 children in Nigeria are born with clefts every year.
